從今年6月開始連續幾個月的線上英文口說Taxlfun練習,也不太清楚是否口說有變得比較好。

當中藉由彼此share stories能學習到老師在述說一件事情英文的講法,也可從中學習。

 

明天的文章開始會用五個新單字自己寫一篇短文....

今天五個單字為....

 

1. cordial (adj)

a. friendly, but formal and polite

b. warm and firendly

EX. A cordial smile/greeting/welcome/reception

 

c. (of a feeling, especially dislike) strong    死對頭

EX. Relations between the two leaders are said to be cordial for each other. 

 

2. intrusive (adj)

a. affecting someone in a way that annoys them and makes them feel uncomfortable

EX. intrusive questioning

 

b. casusing disruption or annoyance through being unwelcome or uninvited.

EX. She tried to be helping without being intrusive.

 

3. stench (noun)

a. strong, unpleasant smell

EX. the stench of rotting fish   

 

b. a bad effect that follows an unpleasant event or situation and is noticeable for a long time.  醜聞的影響依然籠罩著政府  

EX. For some time after the minister's resignation, the stench of scandal hung over the government.  

 

4. sneer (verb / noun )

a. to talk about or look at someone or something in an unkind way that shows you do not respect or approve of him, her or it.

EX. You may sneer, but a lot of people like this kind of music.

 

b. an unkind expression on your face that shows you do not respect or approve of someone of something.

EX. She looked at me with a sneer of disgust.  

 

5. procrastination ( verb / noun ) 

a. to keep delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring 

b. to put off intentionally and habitually

EX. The first tip is to avoid procrastination.
