1. berate

a. to criticize or speak in an angry manner to someone

b. scold or criticize (someone) angreily. 

EX. As he left the meeting, he was berated by angry demonstartors.   

 

2. composure

a. the feeling of being calm, confildent, and in control.  

EX. I didnt want to lose my composure in front of her.  

 

3. stutter

a. to speak or say something, especially the first part of a word, with difficulty, for example pausing before it or repeating it several times. 

EX. She stutters a little, so be patient and let her finish what she's saying.

 

4. baptism of fire

a. a  very difficult first experience of something.  

EX. I was given a million/dollar project to manage in my first month - it was a real baptism of fire.  

 

5. outcry

a. a  strong expression of anger and disapproval about something, made by group of people or by the public.

EX. The release from prison of two of the terroists has provoked a public outcry.
